Members of the St John the Baptist Pro-Life Group met with 2 Lanarkshire MSPs who voted for assisted suicide.
Stephanie Callaghan advised she was in favour in principle of Assisted Suicide, but would make her final decision only after hearing all the evidence and amendments.
Monica Lennon was challenged on some of her comments and she promised to respond in writing but despite pressing for a response we still await a reply.
Stage 2 scrutiny has been completed and around 150 amendments have been rejected, including safety amendments concerning things like proximity to death, what happens when the drugs don’t work, and automatic exclusions for conditions such as Anorexia or Down’s Syndrome.
So, it is very important to keep praying and to contact your MSPs for a meeting or by telephone and letter to ask them to vote against the bill. (Many are out canvassing for next year’s election at the moment).
