Thinking about becoming a Catholic?

PARISH RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA)– Session 2026/27

Anyone wishing to know more about the Catholic faith with a view to joining the Church is encouraged to come along to RCIA. We meet every Tuesday at 7.30pm in the small hall, starting on 8th September 2026. Here’s what some of last year’s Enquirers had to say about their experience…

ENQUIRER 1: “Honestly, the best thing I’ve done. Said for years I was going to join RCIA and I’m so glad I’ve finally joined the parish. The group was amazing to be part of, and so very welcoming.”

ENQUIRER 2: “RCIA has been an amazing and emotional journey. Having been unsure for 20 years, I finally decided to take a leap of faith after what I felt were signs from the Holy Spirit and encouraged by my husband and children who are all Catholic. After my first phone call with Mary who was very reassuring about the RCIA process, I cried as a sense of relief knowing I was making the right decision. I started praying more at home, attending Mass and listening to Catholic faith podcasts. Initially I was scared to attend RCIA but it was lovely to meet people on a similar journey. At times it could be daunting as we were at different stages but what I took from this is that everyone has their own relationship with God/Jesus and we can build on that with the help of RCIA, Mass, Father Ivan and a bible/prayer routine. I really enjoyed the classes, especially those that included some history of the church and could see myself change as a person.

I’m still on my faith journey however I do wholeheartedly know that the Catholic faith is the one true faith and that Jesus died for our sins and our eternal life. From my RCIA experience, my aim is to raise my children Catholic, instilling Christian values and God’s law. Without RCIA and the team there would potentially be 6 less believers in the world!”

ENQUIRER 3: “RCIA has had such a positive impact on my spiritual life. The team were so welcoming and kind. If you feel apprehension or nerves, you won’t after session one! I have learned a lot about myself throughout this process, and feel closer to God through the community aspect of being part of the Church. I would say that if a person feels that call, even with some apprehension, just go and take it week by week. No matter the outcome, you will learn something new about yourself or the faith, and get to meet some incredible people.”

So if you would like to know more about the faith, then why not “come and see”, starting on Tues 8th Sept! All enquiries are welcome and in strictest confidence. For more details please visit the parish website or take an RCIA pamphlet from the church noticeboard or click the video below.

Thinking about becoming a Catholic?

Anyone wishing to know more about the Catholic faith with a view to joining the Church is encouraged to come along to RCIA. Here’s what our previous 3 Enquirers had to say about their experience – “It was a great experience for me and one of the most fulfilling things I’ve done in my life. It’s changed my life for the better!” … “I really enjoyed RCIA. The team are fantastic and encourage questions. It really felt like a safe place where questions were answered without judgement. Starting RCIA at the same time as Alpha was also encouraging as everyone was welcoming, encouraging and supportive of my journey. I feel like a member of a very big family.” … “RCIA has been one of the most meaningful and rewarding experiences of my life. The volunteers who lead the group are incredibly knowledgeable and the kindest, most genuine people. I’m sad to see it coming to an end, but I’m grateful for the impact it has had on my life. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested.” So if you would like to know more, then why not “come and see”! We meet every Tuesday at 7.30pm in the church hall and will start our next session on 2nd September 2025. All enquiries welcome and in strictest confidence.
