We had a meeting of the new pastoral planning team on Tuesday 1 st March 2022, which covered a wide range of topics – everything from safeguarding and finance to the Hall license and plans for parish missions and pilgrimages, and lots more. (the minutes should be available soon).
Coming out of that meeting we are aiming to start:
- A couple of meetings on the upcoming Synod Pope Francis has called. These will take place on Tues 15 and 22 of March at 1930. See www.rcdom.org.uk
- A parish Social Committee (More details later)
- A parish Media Group (More details later)
We have decided after looking at the benefits and costs of having a hall license over about a decade it is no longer worth it indeed it loses the parish money. We are looking into alternatives such as occasional licenses for parish functions etc but when the current license expires in about a month it will not be renewed. For now the bar will not be available for any new function.
Catherine Anne and her family are retiring from running the hall and we wish to thank them for their many years of great service in this. will be looking for a hall keeper to look after the hall with regard to booking and cleaning etc. but not the bar obviously.
I am still looking for a housekeeper to replace Frances after her well earned retirement.
