Support our Parish

Stand up and proclaim that no one ever has the authority to destroy unborn life. (St John Paul II). The pro-choice lobbyists are ever present so thank you to everyone who has kept the sanctity of life in their prayers and has borne witness in any way throughout 2025. On assisted suicide all your prayers and protests are seeing more people reject the culture of death. Despite a local MSP (M Lennon) saying in Parliament in May 2025 “there is a solid majority of public support in every constituency for a compassionate assisted dying law “she has refused to provide any evidence to support this statement to St John the Baptist Prolife Group members. The graph below shows support for the McArthur bill at its lowest point (35%) for the last 6 years.

2026 will be a very important year for the Prolife movement so we need to keep fighting the relentless attacks on the sanctity of life.

Update on the work of the Pro-Life Group

Each Wednesday morning the rosary will be offered up for the protection of all life from conception to natural death. We are also looking at other initiatives to increase prayer for the sanctity of life as well as to inform and involve parishioners in the Pro-Life movement.
