St Teresa of Calcutta said “the beautiful thing about the pro-life movement is that it’s ordinary people doing extra-ordinary things for God”.

Latest on Assisted Suicide bill at Holyrood. The Scottish Parliament has produced a graph ( https:// spice-spotlight.scot/2025/09/25/decades-of-debate-views-on-assisted-dying/) which clearly shows the support for the type of assisted suicide in the McArthur bill has been on a downward trend for 6 years and now sits at the lowest level (35%) for 6 years. Members of the St John the Baptist Pro Life Group challenged one of their MSPs (Monica Lennon), who supported the bill, to explain, amongst other things her statement in Holyrood in May 25 that there was significant support in every constituency in Scotland for an assisted dying bill but despite promising to reply she has told us her staff are currently very busy with other work.

Many MSPs are out campaigning for votes for next May’s election so please try and meet them to express your concerns over this evil bill. If just 7 MSPs switch their vote this bill can be defeated. But we need all parishioners to raise their voices to stop this becoming law. So, it is very important to keep praying and to contact your MSPs for a meeting or by telephone. If you can’t contact them send a letter but if you can, please copy and paste the text to your own email address and personalise it as much as possible.
